Russia reports breaches of Cessation of Hostilities agreement in Syria

LATTAKIA, Apr. 25 (MNA) – The armed terrorist groups breached the Cessation of Hostilities agreement in Syria 13 times during the past 24 hours, putting the number of breaches since February 27 at 435, according to the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim.

The agreement, which came into effect on 27 February, does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIL terrorist organizations and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations.

The Russian center said in a statement, published on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry on Sunday that the so called Jaish al-Islam and Ahrar al-Sham shelled a number of towns in the countryside of Lattakia and Damascus with mortars.

“The so called Free Army shelled towns and military posts in the countryside of Homs with rocket launchers and mortar canons”, the center said, affirming that Russian air force did not target positions of groups that announced joining the cessation of hostilities agreement.

The Russian center pointed out that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization continues mobilizing its militants at the northwestern of Aleppo city and northeastern countryside of Lattakia city.
